We are planning a CSUG meeting for MONDAY, May 3, 2010 from 5pm to 8pm at the SKOKIE Campus of Oakton Community College, also known as the Ray Hartstein Campus in ROOM P134, Engineering/Manufacturing Labs. The address is 7701 N. Lincoln Avenue, Skokie, Illinois 60077.  (Google the address for a map.)

 

 

AGENDA:

 

5:00-5:30PM       Sign-in and networking.

5:30PM               Sub sandwiches, chips & soft drinks served.

5:30-6:30PM       Presentation to CSUG & students.

6:30PM                CSUG moves to another room.

6:30-8:00PM       Presentation continues, Q&A, CSUG business, etc.

8:00PM               Meeting adjourned.

3D Scanning / Reverse Engineering & How To Use The Data In SolidWorks

John Immonen – Rapidform Inc. (Tentative)

Bob McGaughey - Computer Aided Technology

Denny Bahl – Innovative Plastech Inc.

 

John Immonen from Rapidform Inc. (Tentative) will give a presentation consisting of a general overview of the 3D Scanning / Reverse Engineering technologies available today along with a glimpse into the future.  This may also include some tips on CAD modeling that would aid in the reverse engineering process.  We will also briefly discuss the Scan-To-3D feature offered inside SolidWorks Premium.  We will have 3D laser scanners set up to demonstrate how parts are scanned.

 

 

The meeting should adjourn around 8pm.

 

No RSVP necessary.

We will base the headcount on the average from previous meetings.

 

Looking forward to seeing the familiar faces along with any new members.
