Welcome to the Chicago SolidWorks Users' Group Website! The Chicago SolidWorks Users' Group provides a forum for learning and information exchange among Chicago area SolidWorks users.

The Chicago SolidWorks Users' Group, (CSUG), is a Not-For-Profit organization for Chicago area professionals involved in the use of SolidWorks.

Our group is composed mostly of engineering and industrial design professionals, but anyone interested in SolidWorks is welcome and encouraged to join.

3D Scanning / Reverse Engineering & How To Use The Data In SolidWorks

John Immonen – Rapidform Inc. (Tentative)

John Immonen from Rapidform Inc. (Tentative) will give a presentation consisting of a general overview of the 3D Scanning / Reverse Engineering technologies available today along with a glimpse into the future.  This may also include some tips on CAD modeling that would aid in the reverse engineering process.  We will also briefly discuss the Scan-To-3D feature offered inside SolidWorks Premium.  We will have 3D laser scanners set up to demonstrate how parts are scanned.

Due to new procedures for meeting room requests at Oakton Community College we will not be able to meet Tuesday March 2, 2010.

The following dates have been tentativly chosen:

Monday May 3, 2010 at Oakton Community College (Skokie Campus)

Once meeting dates have been confirmed meeting notices will be sent out and posted.

We have had a number of formal presentations given at the meetings over the last couple of years.  Now it is time to once again take part in a meeting that is what user groups are all about.  Please bring your modeling problems, questions and issues to the meeting.  We will have a computer at the meeting running SolidWorks.  We will take turns trying to help each other with our issues.  Now don’t be shy, we have been meeting as a group for some time now so we are all familiar with each other.  Please come prepared to either participate with a problem or solution, or both.  Let’s make this a fun and informational meeting to kick off the 2009-2010 season.
